Firearms Prohibited

The College prohibits the use, possession, or display of a firearm on College property or at a College-sponsored or -related activity in accordance with the Firearm Concealed Carry Act (430 ILCS 66/). “College property” includes any building, classroom, laboratory, medical clinic, hospital, artistic venue, athletic venue, or entertainment venue, whether owned or leased, and any real property, including parking areas, sidewalks, and common areas under the control of the College. Firearms are also prohibited in a vehicle owned, leased, or controlled by the College. Individuals who are licensed to carry a concealed handgun may store the firearm and/or ammunition in a secure case or locked container out of plain view within their vehicle or in the vehicle’s trunk. In the event the firearm is stored in the trunk, the firearm must be unloaded. The carrying or use of firearms for instructional purposes in officially recognized programs or by sworn law enforcement officers is permitted.
